A lorry hire firm is relocating to a new base in the Black Country, creating 22 jobs.

Phoenix Vehicle Hire, of Woden Road West, Wednesbury, is taking over a 1.4 acre site on Burntree Industrial Estate.

The estate straddles Groveland Road and Dudley Road West in Tividale and the company will be taking over empty units.

The 20-year-old company hires out cleaning trucks to councils across the West Midlands.

Plans sent to Sandwell Council say the move will bring 22 new jobs into the area, with the Tividale site becoming the hub for 25 heavy goods vehicles.

Developers say movement in and out of the site will not disturb nearby residents.

Robert Csondor, from Droitwich-based RCA Regeneration, said: "This change of use seeks to retain local employment opportunities on the site and investment in an area that has had limited investment to date."

He said the low number of lorries will minimise any disturbance to people.
