A 19-year-old former European dance champion from Wolverhampton is preparing to abandon her day job to pursue her dream of launching a school of dance and being a full-time dancing coach.
Melanie Banks, from Pendeford, will leave her administrator job in the city to launch Passion School of Dance in September.
Melanie, who was U-16 European freestyle dance champion in 2007, will base the school at Dovecotes and St
Christopher's Primary Schools, in Wolverhampton and Codsall respectively, as well as the city's Polish Catholic Club in Stafford Road.
She will also hold free dance workshops at each venue later this month to promote her school, which will open on September 14.
Melanie, who learned her skills at Touch of Class dance school in Dudley, said: "I'm giving up my job to pursue my dream. If I don't do it now I will regret it for the rest of my life."
