ABC Early Learning and Childcare Centre UK has opened the new purpose-built nursery on Bilbrook Road in Codsall.

The company already has a base in Wolverhampton and the new £2 million nursery will cater for up to 120 children. The overall business has created 40 new jobs over the last 18 months.

As well as classrooms and play areas, the new centre has as an outdoor classroom and a cinema. Emma Catton, director of ABC Childcare said: "We have strong family values and we believe that this ethos has been behind the success of our business.

"The site enables us to offer an extended first-class childcare facility for our children and will complement our other centre based at Wolverhampton Business Park."

She added: "We are extremely pleased that Barclays has recognised the high quality service we deliver and to support the next stage of our business development."

Family-run business ABC, which was started in 2004, opened its centre at the business park in March 2012.

It caters for 122 youngsters and it was given an outstanding rating following its last Ofsted inspection in September.

The Codsall nursery, which opened its doors in December, also serves Perton, Pendeford, Brewood, Coven and Tettenhall.

David Hateley, executive director of ABC Childcare, oversaw the development of the new site at Codsall working in partnership with Dave Marshall of Marshalls PBD.

"Marshalls have delivered way beyond even the highest expectations of ABC Childcare and the facilities that have been created for our children and staff, are simply amazing," added Mr Hateley.
