Stafford business park work to start within days
Work on a new business park that could create up to 2,000 jobs in Staffordshire will begin within days, bosses have announced.
The Beacon Business Park extension, on the A518 Weston Road in Stafford, will occupy a 50-acre site when completed.
Staffordshire County Council's highways team is scheduled to begin building a new entrance to the site on Monday.
The work, which will also involve making improvements to a busy junction nearby, is expected to take around 30 weeks. Bosses say the improvements will ease congestion when complete.
The business park extension will provide mixed use land including freehold, leasehold and design and build packages of varying sizes up to 100,000sq ft.
Mark Winnington, Staffordshire County Council's cabinet member for economy and infrastructure, said: "It is extremely encouraging for Staffordshire people to see another business development get underway which will bring jobs and growth to our county."
