Roadworks starting on three routes
Months of roadworks misery were beginning for drivers today as three major schemes got under way. In West Bromwich a £1.3m revamp of one of the region's busiest roads as part of a red route scheme was beginning.

In West Bromwich a £1.3m revamp of one of the region's busiest roads as part of a red route scheme was beginning.Newton Road will have lane closures around Forge Lane, West Bromwich as work begins on the All Saints Way to Scott Arms route between West Bromwich and Great Barr.
Closures will be in place until mid-April and 30mph speed restrictions in place.
The Highways Agency was also starting a four-month project to install traffic lights at junction 2 of the M54 on the Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire border. The scheme will cost £2.6m.
Meanwhile, a five-week programme of works to repair potholes on the A4036 Pedmore Road and surrounding streets in Holly Hall, Dudley was due to start today.
