KJB invests in new digital press
A digital printing business based in Cannock added a new press at the end of 2014. KJB Printers in Beechwood Business Park, Burdock Close, has recently invested more than £3 million.
The company, which reported improved turnover last year, has also made production efficiencies throughout 2014. The investment has reduced outsourcing and resulted in improved efficiencies and productive capacity, throughout its manufacturing premises based in Cannock.
Commercial director Stephen Egerton said the acquisition of an additional Versant 2100 digital press, manufactured by Xerox, was producing results far superior to the majority of older technology presses.
"This will give KJB's customers access to high quality flat digital print at competitive rates. This latest acquisition is only one from eight pieces of equipment acquired this year by KJB," he added.
Mr Egerton said that KJB planned steady growth over the next two years and hoped to move to a shift production pattern shortly. "We also have our sights set on acquiring a local print business, and are looking hard," he said.
KJB also offers consultation and procurement audits and has quality control and e-commerce software. "All of these can help reduce costs and wastage, whilst improving customer's perspectives through improved marketing collateral. KJB's expansion had been mainly from local small and medium-sized businesses within Cannock, Stafford, Stone and Lichfield," said Mr Egerton.
