Dolphin winning new customers across the Midlands
The Mayor of Sandwell has officially opened Dolphin Lifts Midlands newly-refurbished offices in West Bromwich.
Councillor Linda Horton was among guests at the family firm's factory in Oldbury Road on April 1.
She and managing director Norman Farrington unveiled a plaque to mark the completion of the £15,000 upgrade.
Dolphin, who make a range of stairlifts, wheelchair lifts, hoists and ramps, also presented local health and wellbeing charity, The Kaleidoscope Plus Group, with a gift certificate for a free Meditek stairlift.
Mr Farrington bought the company in 2006 when it was barely ticking over..
His son Lee Farrington said: "We are delighted to announce the redevelopment of our headquarters in West Bromwich.
"We believe that this investment will enable us to provide our increasing customer base with an enhanced level of service right across the business, including sales, maintenance and general customer service."
The re-development has involved housing the sales department together with customer services, maintenance and accounts.
In just eight years, the father and son have developed Dolphin Lifts Midlands from a small company which employed just three members of staff, to a business seeing a 32% increase in profit year-on-year and winning new business from customers across the Midlands looking for stairlifts, hoists, wet rooms and other mobility equipment for domestic or commercial settings.
The company now employs 38 members of staff.
"Despite our ongoing growth it is really important to us that Dolphin Midlands remains a local, family business," adds Lee Farrington.
"So when a customer needs a quote or a survey done, they will get my father or I going out to see them personally. "
"Customers are also very welcome to visit our Oldbury Road showroom to see examples from the range of products we can supply. We have to compete against national chains but I like to think our personal approach and good reputation is what attracts new local customers and encourages existing customers to return to us or recommend us to friends or family."
The Dolphin Group, of which Dolphin Lifts Midlands, is a part, has also recently celebrated its 25th anniversary.
