It follows a succession of contract wins with blue chip automotive original equipment manufacturers, who utilise WH Marren's waste management expertise in order to reduce costs and maximise efficiencies.

The firm in Temple Bar has invested to meet new business opportunities and capacity and prepare for future growth.

"We have invested some £1m into two new Leibherr cranes and five new vehicles, said managing director Jon Marren.

"This investment has been taking place throughout 2013-2014 and we are now taking delivery of the sixth vehicle in April.

"All of this is taking place on the strength of new contracts and on the number of orders we are winning, and it's an obvious move to put money back into strengthening our capacity to ensure that we can continue to take on new business and support the reprocessing economy in this part of the world," he explained.

Trading since 1906, WH Marren specialises in the acquisition, processing and distribution of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, ready for the manufacture of new goods.

As the importance of environmental sustainability and the renaissance of UK production continues to rise, the company is playing an important role adding value in the supply chain of some of the UK's leading manufacturers.

"A lot of our work is in the automotive field. "We have also taken on two new drivers, and we are continuing to build the service based contracts which we are establishing with many local general engineering firms, in addition to the automotive sector, said Mr Marren.

The firm passes the metals it collects on to foundries, who then convert into all kinds of new materials.

"We offer a 24 hour collection promise. If you call us before 1pm we will be there the next day to pick up the materials. Offering this level of reliability is a real selling point for us.

"We can also offer site surveys and other ways to help build the revenue of the companies that we work with. We are always seeking ways to help reduce costs for our partners and to reduce waste as well of course. This is all part of the overarching, holistic service that WH Marren offers. This is the best approach to doing things right for the environment, but it is also the best way of doing good business too," added Mr Marren.

The firm will also be exhibiting at this years MACH exhibition, which runs from April 7 to 11 at the Birmingham NEC.
