Dead body found on tracks between Wolverhampton and Stafford train stations 'not suspicious' - police say
A person died on the tracks at Penkridge railway station in the early hours of Thursday, October 2 morning.
Emergency services were called to an incident at the station between Wolverhampton and Stafford at 6.30am where they discovered a body on the tracks.
Upon arrival they pronounced the casualty dead at the scene, and the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokeswoman from the British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to a report of a casualty on the tracks just before 6.30am today (2 October) at Penkridge railway station.
"Officers and paramedics attended and sadly a person was pronounced deceased. The incident is not thought to be suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to an incident at Penkridge train station on Station Road at 6.30am and sent an ambulance and paramedic officer to the scene.
"On arrival, crews found a patient but sadly, it quickly became clear they could not be saved and the patient was confirmed dead at the scene."
The issues had meant all lines between Stafford and Wolverhampton stations were blocked, but shortly after 8am it was announced that things would slowly go back to normal.
