Four arrested after campaign action group break into UK weapons factory in South Staffordshire and 'begin dismantling the site'

Four people have been arrested after a weapons factory in South Staffordshire was broken into by a campaign action group.

Palestine Martyrs for Justice crashed a vehicle through two entrance gates at Moog Aircraft Group in the early hours of Tuesday, August 26.

Group members wearing a T-shirt featuring the face of a 'Palestinian martyr' were reported to have scaled the roof at the facility at Moog, Valiant Way in Wolverhampton.

A spokeswoman from South Staffordshire Police said: "Four people have been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage offences following an incident at an industrial unit in south Staffordshire earlier today (Tuesday 26 August).

"We were called at 3.50am today to Valiant Way, in Pendeford, following reports of criminal damage.

"A number of individuals had entered a manufacturing building and gained access to the roof.

"Significant damage was caused to a number of sky lights and solar panels.

"Officers, along with colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, were deployed to the scene and four individuals were arrested.

"A 32-year-old man from West Yorkshire and a 23-year-old woman from London were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage to property over £5,000.

"A 22-year-old woman from West Sussex was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage to property under £5,000.

"A 22-year-old man from Leicestershire was arrested on suspicion of burglary with intent to cause damage.

"They each remain in police custody at this time.

"This is an ongoing investigation and we would ask members of the public to avoid the site at this time."

While on the roof and wearing a t-shirt featuring the face of Raghd Al-Jabri, one of the members said: "We are Palestinian Martyrs for Justice and each of us here today on the roof of Moog are wearing a t-shirt of one of the martyrs that have been murdered by Israel in the genocide."

Moog Aircraft Group has been approached for comment.
