Boy, 13, arrested for carrying sword days after police found him with a 15-inch knife tucked in waistband

A 13-year-old boy has been arrested for carrying a knife just days after police found a 15-inch knife in his waistband.

West Midlands Police's Project Guardian Team first apprehended the youngster on Tuesday, August 12 in the Northfield area of Birmingham, where he was found with a 15-inch knife tucked into his waistband.

A new post, published on Monday, August 18 at 10.04am, informed the public that the same individual had been arrested again, this time for possessing a sword.

The post read: "Just days after this arrest, we stopped the same young male again, meters away from the previous location, this time in possession of a sword.

"He's been remanded in custody pending court. Enhanced safeguarding measures are now in place to protect the community and him."
