One lane reopen on the M6 southbound after heavy goods vehicle fire forced closure near Coventry
One lane of the M6 southbound has reopened after a heavy goods vehicle fire had forced the motorway to be closed from Junction 4.
Emergency services arrived on the scene on the motorway near Bedworth and Coventry, where the fire broke out shortly before 9am on Thursday, August 14.
The fire spread across the southbound carriageway, causing damage and major delays.

Resurfacing of the motorway is now taking place, and drivers have been encouraged to plan their journey's in advance and account for delays.
A diversion via the A446 / A452 Stonebridge Island and A45 towards Coventry was announced, with delays throughout the day anticipated.
Initially, the motorway was closed southbound between Junction 3A M6 Toll and Junction 3, near Corley Services, but an update from West Midlands Roads at 9.36am confirmed the decision had been made to close the road southbound from Junction 4.
