The 29-year-old signed for Jackett's promotion-chasing side until the end of December and could go straight into the team to face Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

And, despite Fletcher's acrimonious exit in 2012, Graham told of how the Scotland striker had nothing but good words to say about the club.

He said: "I spoke to Steven Fletcher about a couple of players that are still here and he spoke highly of them and highly of the club so that helped as well.

"That was nice to know from someone I'm close to at Sunderland, he gave me a little push in the right direction.

"I don't know the players but that doesn't bother me, I'm looking forward to get to know everyone."

Team-mates at Sunderland talked about Wolves and it was ex-Molineux star Steven Fletcher that persuaded Danny Graham to make the move.

Graham added: "I'm very impressed with the training ground and how well Wolves have done this season. It's such a big club. They got promoted last year and have carried that form on this year.

"Although the last two results haven't been ideal, you're going to get that in the Championship, it's a long hard season and it's how you react.

"Everything was right for me to come to Wolves and I'm delighted to be here.

"Hopefully I can come in, add a few goals and get the challenge for the top six back on. I can't wait to get started."

Graham's season with Sunderland hasn't quite progressed the way he may have liked, but the striker has been staying sharp in training and is looking to impress at Molineux.

He said: "I just want to be playing football, I've got the hunger to do well and hopefully that will be the case.

"I had a good end to the season with Middlesbrough last year so confidence is high. It's a fresh start for me now to get out, get some game time and hopefully get some goals.

"I'm ready to go, my match sharpness is there. I'll look to get a good week's training in and hopefully we can get a good result against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

"Forest started very well and they've hit a bit of a bumpy patch recently. It's going to be tough, but Molineux will probably be near enough full.

"Hopefully, they can get behind us and we can get the three points."
