Wolves rookie Kortney Hause was today described as being "borderline" to make the club's pre-season tour of Ireland.

The 18-year-old centre-back, who was snapped up from League Two side Wycombe for a nominal fee in January, has been promoted to Kenny Jackett's first-team squad this summer.

But the lanky defender, who is Wolves' only naturally left-footed defender apart from left-back Scott Golbourne, is under consideration to make the squad for the two-match trip to Dublin, which departs a week on Sunday.

"If you went through the obvious ones going to Ireland, he'd be on the borderline right now," said Jackett.

"I won't decide until the last minute but I do think he's got a bright future.

"His progress now is about playing for the Under-21s and being with us all of the time and perhaps going out on loan like a lot of the young players. We'll see as we go.

"Richard Stearman plays as a left-sided centre-back, Sam Ricketts can play right the way across the back and Ethan Ebanks-Landell, but Kortney is the only naturally left-footed player, other than Scott Golbourne."

Hause made 31 appearances for Wycombe – 20 of which came last season – but Jackett has earmarked him for a role in the Under-21s team next season.
