Stale Solbakken arrived at Wolves today to be officially unveiled as the club's new manager.

The 44-year-old Norwegian coach was paraded before a packed press conference at Molineux after meeting the players and staff at the club's training ground at Compton Park.

He appeared at Compton at 9am today to be introduced to the players, who lost their final game of the season 3-2 at Wigan yesterday. Prior commitments meant Mr Solbakken could not be at the club's Premier League swansong at the DW Stadium.

Although his contract starts on July 1, Mr Solbakken is expected to start work immediately on assessing transfer targets and planning pre-season training.

Former Copenhagen and Cologne boss Mr Solbakken said he was looking forward to starting his new job, which is his first managerial post in England. "I'm delighted to be taking up the important challenge to manage Wolves," he said. "It's an exciting opportunity to manage a great club."
