The Baggies hit their pre-season target by beating Sunderland 2-1 on Saturday.

But Foster is adamant Steve Clarke's side will keep striving for success in the final three months of the campaign, with players now openly targeting European football.

Foster said: "There was talk earlier in the season, when we got to the 30-point mark really quickly and then we went five or six without a win, that we had switched off.

"Everyone was saying 'that's it, their season's done.' But we have cracked on now, we have players back and we are going in the right direction.

"Coming off the back of five or six defeats out of seven it has been some way to turn it around by winning the last two.

"The boost we got from beating Liverpool was amazing. It just lifted all the negativity around the club.

"We have cracked on from there."
