Baggies players showed their support for ill masseur Derrick Jones at The Hawthorns during the warm-up for Saturday's Premier League clash with Stoke by displaying the message 'Get well soon Del'.

The 64-year-old, from Halesowen, was treated for throat cancer earlier this year and remains seriously ill despite a brief return to work at the beginning of the season.

Head coach Steve Clarke said: "Del is one of the masseurs at the club. He's really not very well and the lads just wanted to send him a little personal message."

Mr Jones was diagnosed with oesophagus cancer in February. It came as his friend, long-serving kitman Dave Matthews, was recovering from lymphoma.
