Walsall set for Troy Deeney cash windfall

Walsall are set for a £150,000 cash boost after former striker Troy Deeney helped Watford to the Premier League.

Deeney left the Banks's Stadium for Vicarage Road for around £500,000 in August 2010.

The deal included a clause which would see the Saddlers receive the six-figure sum should the striker fire the Hornets to promotion.

Watford ended their eight-year exile from the top flight on Saturday when they won 2-0 at Brighton to win automatic promotion, with Deeney on target.
