Homes approved for Wolverhampton Sunbeam site

Plans to transform the iconic Sunbeam factory into more than 100 homes have been approved.

The landmark building, which sits on the Penn Road Island on Wolverhampton's ring road, has been derelict for more than 15 years.

Wolverhampton City Council has approved plans for 115 homes to be built creating 40 jobs.

The revamp will see the famed Sunbeam lettering re-instated on the side of the building.

Councillor Malcolm Gwinnett said: "At long last Wolverhampton is now moving forward on regeneration."
