Was teen killed in crash tragedy riding a stolen bike? Police confirm theft theory probe

Police have said they are investigating claims that a teen who died in a crash in Dudley was riding a stolen bike.

Brandon Holt, aged 17, was killed after a smash on Wrens Nest Road just after 6.15am on Sunday when he collided with a parked car.

Police spokesman Hannah Fitzgerald confirmed last night officers were probing claims the bike was stolen - after the suggestion was posted online.

Officers have issued an appeal for anyone who may have been in the area at the time or who witnessed the collision to come forward.

PC Damian Gibson, from the Regional Collision Investigation Unit, said: "We are appealing for witnesses to come forward following the weekend's tragic incident.

"We have specialist officers who continue to liaise with the family of Brandon at this sad time and our thoughts remain with them."
