Compton Care is asking supporters, patients, staff and volunteers to tell someone what they mean to them by buying a love heart.

The heart will then be displayed in the charity's shop at St George’s in Wolverhampton city centre, which opened in October last year.

Retail area manager Aaron Smith said: “The past 12 months have been tough for everyone.

"We’ve faced three national lockdowns, some of us have lost a loved one, it’s been a really difficult time.

“This campaign is all about sharing the love, spreading a little bit of happiness and raising essential funds needed so that we can continue to care for the community.

"You could leave a message for your mum on one of our hearts to tell her how much of a rock she has been throughout the pandemic or leave one for your colleague who has cheered you up when you’ve felt low.

"Or why not leave a message for your partner just to tell them how much you love and appreciate them?

“Whoever you want to say thank you to why not do it in a big way and have your message displayed in the centre of Wolverhampton on the windows of our Compton Care superstore?

“You can also get involved on social media by sharing a message of love using the hashtag #ShareTheLove.”

The love hearts from the Wolverhampton-based charity can be bought for £1.99 in either grey or yellow – to match the charity’s colours – by visiting comptoncare.org.uk
