Woman killed in road crash is named as grandmother, 82

A grandmother killed when she was hit by a car in Staffordshire was named today.

Anita Hatton, 82, was hit by a Mercedes driven by a man from Lichfield on Birmingham Road, at its junction with Footherley Lane, Shenstone.

Mrs Hatton, from Shenstone, died at the scene.

In a statement released today by Staffordshire Police, her family said: "Anita was a true lady of her era – her natural warmth and grace will be sorely missed by her devoted husband, children and grandchildren."
