The pair - one of whom was armed with a six inch knife - forced their way into the Crown and Anchor in Hollyhedge Road just after the last customers had left and an employee was locking up. They forced the staff member to take them to the safe and demanded cash.

A second employee was held by the other man.

Detective Constable Cal Sanders, from West Bromwich police, said: "The members of staff were unharmed, but were clearly frightened by the experience.

"A large amount of cash was taken during the robbery. The men headed towards Thursfield Road and I would urge anyone who may have seen them to contact me.

"I am also appealing to anyone who knows who they are to please get in touch."

One man was described as black, with a stocky build and aged approximately 25-years-old. He was wearing a black cap with a white tick, a black facial covering and a dark jacket.

The second man, also aged around 25, had a slim build. He was wearing a blue hoodie with the hood up, something black covering his face and dark clothing.

Anyone with any information on the robbery which happened at 11.30pm on Wednesday, June 25, is urged to call Detective Constable Cal Sanders on 101 or Crimestoppers the independent charity on 0800 555 111.
