More than £36k raised for attacked Watford fan Nic Cruwys

The fund started to raise cash for attack victim Nic Cruwys has passed the £36,000 mark.

Wolves fan Ollie Floyd, 16, who like Mr Cruwys is from Hemel Hempstead, started the fund after the 44-year-old Watford fan was assaulted in Little's Lane following his team's game with Wolves at Molineux.

His intention was to raise £1,000 to help Mr Cruwys and his family, but so far 2,350 people have boosted the sum to £36,014.

They include honorary Watford president Sir Elton John and his husband David Furnish, TV presenter Jake Humphrey and Watford players Daniel Pudil and Fernando Forestieri,

Mr Cruwys is said to be in a 'comfortable' condition at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

So far seven people have been arrested and bailed in connection with the assault.

Police have asked anyone with information about the attack to call 101.
