What makes a true Dizzee Rascal fan? Was it the rude boys in hoodies and sunglasses? The schoolboys with their cans of shandy? The Skins-esque students, impeccably groomed, wearing skinny jeans and geek-chic glasses or the frazzled office workers who swapped their desks for the dancefloor for a Monday with a difference? Frankly I don't think anyone cares, least of all Dizzee who has bopped his way into mainstream pop with a string of dance hits.

The eclectic mix of last night's crowd at Wolverhampton Civic Hall proved Rascal's ability to transcend all genres. Regardless of which mould fans fell into, the feelgood gig was the perfect start to the week – let your hair down, bop away to his grimy old tunes and go nuts for the big dance ones at the end.

The crowd took a while to warm up, suggesting the vast majority had only come to hear his latest work. Needless to say, by the time Dirty Cash, Dance Wiv Me and Bonkers were performed, everyone was moving.
