The village's popular Open Gardens Weekend was taking place today and tomorrow.

As well as blooming beautiful gardens, there were a children's quiz and refreshments on offer.

Organisers are hoping for a good turnout with temperatures set to soar.

Brenda Davies, who organises the event alongside Rosemary Taylor, said: "We have got every kind of garden you can think of from a blissfully imperfect farmhouse garden to a locksmiths sprawling garden along a lake.

"It's not a competition and each garden stands on its own merit.

"People from around the village volunteer to open their gardens to the public every year and its just become a part of summer for us now."

Proceeds will go to the St Mary and St Chad Fabric Fund, towards repairs and general upkeep.

Mrs Davies, who also opens her own garden for the event, added: "If you pop along you will be sure of a wonderful afternoon.

"It's the perfect weather to spend time outside and we always ensure a warm welcome.

"I would like to say a big thank you to everyone for presenting their gardens as it takes a lot of effort but we always do the best we can.

"It is the ideal afternoon for the whole family and we always love to see so many different faces in the village."

The open event was run from 11am to 5pm both today and tomorrow, with a £5 fee for a programme that will admit one adult to all gardens.

Parking is available at Brewood Middle School in School Road.
