Thousands expected at Midland Game Fair

Final preparations are taking place for one of the Midlands' top country events which will be staged next weekend.

Thousands of people are expected to attend the Midland Game Fair at Weston Park near Wolverhampton.

The event is home to the Great Wall Motor World Series Clay Shooting and Gundog Championship Grand Finals, the Countryman's Weekly Champion of Champions Terrier and Lurcher events and the European Field Target Championship.

During Saturday and Sunday, there will also be 19 arenas with live entertainment and more than 650 exhibition stands.

Children up to the age of 16 get in free.

Visitors can also enjoy the Free Radio main arena which will feature falconry, jousting and Shetland ponies.

Other attractions include airgun demonstrations, fishing, food, rural crafts and working dogs.

The action-packed Fishing Village combines have-a-go activities, expert tuition and a selection of retailers.

Food lovers will also be well catered for as the Food Village features a wide range of quality exhibitors. The Stables Lawn in front of the Main House will offer real ale from local brewery Hobsons.
