Wolverhampton filmmaker brings world-first Sikh superhero film home
Sold-out superhero film comes home to Wolverhampton
Following a sold-out premiere in Slough this weekend, British actor, writer and director Flex Singh is bringing The Ninth Master: Way of a Warrior to Cineworld Wolverhampton for its home-city premiere.

Recognised as the world's first English-language Sikh superhero feature film, The Ninth Master follows a humble Sikh porter who discovers he is the heir to an ancient warrior order and must rise to become the Ninth Master.

Raised in Wolverhampton, Flex Singh wrote, directed, produced and stars in the film, making the screening a milestone moment for both the filmmaker and the city. Cast members Richard Chan and Marty Mummery will also be in attendance, joining audiences for a post-screening meet-and-greet. Among the special guests expected to attend is The Mayor of Wolverhampton, Councillor Paul Singh, alongside community leaders and other invited VIP guests.

The film brings together legendary warrior traditions from around the world-including Spartans, Vikings, Samurai and Ashanti warriors-while promoting universal Sikh values of courage, resilience, compassion and selfless service. Set in modern Britain, the film explores themes including bullying, gang crime and homelessness while celebrating diversity, community spirit and the positive contribution Sikh communities have made to British society.
Flex Singh said: "Bringing The Ninth Master home to Wolverhampton is incredibly special. The response across the UK has been amazing, and after a sold-out weekend in Slough, I can't wait to share the film with audiences in the city where my journey began."

The Wolverhampton premiere takes place at Cineworld Wolverhampton today (July 1) at 6.30pm, where audiences will have the opportunity to meet the cast and filmmaking team.
