Therapy department donates one-of-a-kind bird table for League of Friends raffle
Craftsmanship and community spirit combine in special hospital charity raffle
Stafford and Cannock League of Hospital Friends are delighted to offer a very unique prize in their Spring into Summer raffle.

The Occupational Therapy Department of Cannock Chase Hospital has kindly donated a Bird Table to the League of Friends as a raffle prize which has been hand made within the department. This is a truly unique prize, and the winner can be assured that there will never be another exactly the same.
The inspirational department is run by Specialist Therapy Assistant, Ian Gittings.
Syd, an occupational therapy patient, has been working on the table and said: “I’ve learnt a great deal and my weekly attendance has significantly helped my mental wellbeing”.

The League wants to make really good use of the money raised. One of the most popular tools in the workshop is the wood-turning lathe. Unfortunately, because its base is fixed directly to the floor it is not possible for people confined to a wheelchair to use it. However, table-top versions are available, and one would allow Ian to train more people in its use.
Tickets are just £1 and are available at all League of Friends outlets, at Cannock Hospital, County Hospital and St Georges.
