Sunny fun day helps Cannock bowls club attract new players

New friends made at fun day.

Cannock Bowling Green Club welcomed more than 50 people to its Family and Friends Fun Day on Saturday, May 9, as members took advantage of the sunny spring weather to encourage more people to try the game of bowls.

More experienced members were on hand to give basic instructions and tuition on the game, all equipment was provided, however the main aim was to have some fun and make new friends.

The club are keen to increase their membership in 2026, both male and female members,  the day was focused on demonstrating the social aspects of being a member of this historic club.

Over recent weeks members of the club have undertaken works to the gardens that surround the green and have also transformed the clubs pavilion, the club took this opportunity to official unveil the new club sign. Club President Des Pugh welcomed family, friends and guests to this open day event, he thanked all those members who had worked so hard to transform the garden and the pavilion before unveiling the new sign.
