Stafford youngsters take to the stage for Peter Pan production
Young performers showcase their talents
Young people from across Stafford took to the stage for a production of Peter Pan as part of the Gatehouse Theatre’s Summer School programme.

The show was performed on Friday, August 21 and Saturday, August 22, bringing the three-week programme to a close.
The summer school is aimed at young people aged between nine and 18 and has been designed to develop creativity, confidence and performance skills through professional-led workshops.

This year’s programme was supported by a £500 donation from housebuilder Bellway, which is building at the Victoria Gate development in Stafford.
The funding helped support workshops covering acting, movement, teamwork and creative expression, as well as elements of the final production.
The Peter Pan performances provided an opportunity for the young cast to showcase what they had learned to friends, family and members of the public.

Gary Stevens, general manager at the Gatehouse Theatre, said: “We were delighted to work with Bellway on the 2026 Gatehouse Summer School project and we really appreciate their support. The Summer School is a key part of the arts and cultural calendar in Stafford and it’s fantastic to have such a prestigious sponsor backing this major community project.”

Lisa Morris, sales manager at Bellway West Midlands, said: “It’s a privilege to see young people realising their ambitions on the stage. We pride ourselves on giving back to the communities where we build and the Gatehouse Theatre is a local institution we’re incredibly proud to support.
“Our sponsorship has helped with the costs of delivering the summer programme, including the final performance taking place this weekend. We hope the young performers enjoyed their moment in the spotlight!”
