The shop will close from July 5 while improvements are carried out to create a brighter, more welcoming shopping experience for customers, volunteers and staff.

Before the refurbishment begins, every item in the shop is 50% off, making it the perfect time to pick up a bargain while supporting local hospice care.

The refurbishment will include new flooring, refreshed décor, updated signage, improved visual merchandising and a raised display area in the front window to showcase the creative displays the retail team is known for.

Laura Seal, retail operations manager at Katharine House Hospice, said: "We're looking forward to giving our Stafford shop a fresh new look.

"These improvements will create an even better experience for our customers and volunteers, while making it easier for our team to process the generous donations we receive. Before we close, we'd love people to pop in, find a bargain and help us clear the shelves ready for the refurbishment."

During the refurbishment, donations should be taken to the charity's Superstore on Astonfields Industrial Estate.

The hospice hopes to reopen the shop at the end of July and will share the reopening date as soon as it is confirmed.

Every purchase and donation helps Katharine House Hospice provide specialist care and support for local people living with an incurable illness and their loved ones. Together, the hospice's shops raise more than £1 million every year to help fund its care.
