Mentor Link offer one-to-one support to children who are struggling with anxiety, grief, depression, emotional school avoidance, reluctant to participate in education, or have friendship or family issues.

Helen Cooper, Mentor Link’s Digital Marketer, first visited Hagley Primary School to raise awareness of the charity’s services in the area. Mentor Link will make further visits to meet children and match them with mentors who can support their individual needs.

Andrea Maddocks, CEO and founder of Mentor Link, says: “There’s a lot of life challenges that children face today which makes attending school and participating in education hard for them. Our trained and DBS Checked Volunteer Mentors give up one to two hours a week to offer a child emotional and social support through listening, whilst also teaching coping mechanisms.”

With over 24 years of providing a dedicated service to children in schools, the charity has a great reputation of supporting children back into their learning and is in partnership with over 80 schools across the Midlands.

Mentor Link is keen to help more children throughout the heart of England, covering areas that include Gloucestershire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire, and Herefordshire.

They hope to collaborate with more schools and recruit more Volunteer Mentors.

If you have 1-2 hours a week to spare, are a good listener, reliable, patient, and willing to persevere with a positive outlook on life, Mentor Link are keen to hear from you! Please contact a member of our team on [email protected] or call 01299 822336 for further information.
