Mentor Link discusses volunteer mentor drive with Stourbridge MP

Karen Morgan, Service Manager at Mentor Link, and Dr Helen Chaplin, Trustee and Educational Psychologist, were delighted to meet Cat Eccles MP for Stourbridge at her constituency office to discuss the valuable work the children’s charity does to support young people.

Mentor Link are helping many children in different schools throughout Dudley and the surrounding areas, by providing Volunteer Mentors to support children who are struggling with life’s challenges, such as anxiety, grief, attending school, participating in education and forming relationships.

Karen said: “It was great to meet MP Cat Eccles and help spread awareness of the charities work. We are hoping to recruit more Volunteer Mentors in the Stourbridge, Dudley and Wolverhampton areas and she has kindly agreed to help spread the word!

“The aim of the charity is to provide regular one to one support from a professionally recruited and trained mentor, to improve self-esteem and engagement in learning. In addition, we work in partnership with two Educational Psychologists, Helen being one, to deliver an EBSA project which supports children back into education after periods of absence.”

With over 24 years of providing this dedicated service to children in schools, the charity has a great reputation of supporting children back into their learning and is in partnership with over 80 schools across the Midlands.

If you have 1-2 hours a week to spare, please contact a member of our team on [email protected] or call 01299 822336 for further information.

All Volunteer Mentors are DBS vetted, professionally and safely recruited, receiving support from a dedicated team at Mentor Link.
