Dudley apprentice wins regional award and heads for national final
Mandeep Dosanjh, who works at Specsavers in Dudley, has won a West Midlands apprenticeship award and is now in the running for national recognition
A Dudley apprentice has won a regional award for her achievements and will now compete for a national title.

Mandeep Dosanjh, who works at Specsavers Dudley, was named Advanced Apprentice of the Year in the West Midlands at the National Apprenticeship and Skills Awards 2026.
She received the award at a ceremony at The Belfry on Thursday, October 8, following her success at the Inspirational Youth Awards in April.
The win means Mandeep is eligible for the national award, with the winners due to be announced at a ceremony in London next month.
Now in their 23rd year, the National Apprenticeship and Skills Awards are run by the Department for Work and Pensions and recognise apprentices for their achievements, commitment and skills.
Mandeep said she was proud to have her hard work recognised, adding that she had continually challenged herself to learn more, take on extra responsibility and make the most of opportunities during her apprenticeship.
She also thanked her directors, managers, team and colleagues across the Specsavers group for supporting her development.
Gurdeep Dosanjh, store director at Specsavers Dudley and Mandeep’s father, said the award recognised her dedication and her efforts to improve the service offered to customers and support other team members.
He added that the whole team was proud of her achievement and pleased she would progress to the national awards.
