Creative talents shine as Staffordshire WI wins top marquee honour
WI shine at Staffordshire County Show
The 12 months of planning and execution was all worthwhile when Staffordshire Federation of Women's Institutes was awarded the prize as Best Dressed Marquee at the Staffordshire County Show.

Over two very hot days, visitors to the marquee were transported to the seaside with props such as deckchairs, a beach hut, sandcastle - and bunting which was knitted by WI members and competition entries in the theme of A Day at the Seaside.
The competition categories were well supported by Staffordshire WI members with art, craft, cookery and floristry competing for the top spots.
The overall Best in Show prize was awarded to Shirley Newton, Tutbury WI for her painting of a Scene by the Sea.
Helen Newman, Chair of the County Show Team said: “The standard of entries as usual was very high and I must congratulate the Team who have worked hard over many months to put on this prize-winning event.”
Federation Chair, Helen Mancey, added: “The County Show is always a marvellous opportunity to showcase the talent of our members across Staffordshire and to encourage women of all ages to be part of our wonderful organisation.”
The results of all winning entries - with photos - can be viewed on the Staffordshire Federation of Women's Institutes website, sfwi.org.
