The “Black Country Bost Up” boxing event will see local businessman Nathan Hadley, owner of Bake My Day, step into the ring against show sponsor Spencer Cree in what promises to be an emotional and entertaining night of boxing.

Spencer Cree is raising money in memory of Freddie, who would have celebrated his 10th birthday on May 19 this year.

Spencer said: “Freddie would have celebrated his 10th birthday on May 19 this year. In his memory, we are raising money to support families who have experienced the heartbreak of losing a child — something no family should ever have to endure.

“To raise funds, we have organised a series of charity events over the coming months, including a 12-mile walk from Russells Hall Hospital to New Cross Hospital, darts showcase nights, a skydive on Freddie’s birthday, and now a charity boxing event on June 13.”

Nathan Hadley is also fighting for a cause close to his heart, helping to raise money and awareness as his mother continues her brave battle against high-grade non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Nathan’s mother is currently undergoing radiotherapy ahead of stem cell treatment after being diagnosed in 2022. This is her second battle with blood cancer.

To add even more meaning to the event, Evans Boxing has introduced a special charity belt for the winner, with hopes that the competition will help both fighters raise even more money for their respective causes.

The event has also received strong backing from local businesses, including Greenseal Windows & Doors, UK Prestige Car Brokers and Bostin Darts 180, all of whom are supporting the fighters and the charities involved.

Shaz Saleem who trains with Evans Boxing will be attending the event as guest, said: "I'm very excited for this event, the fighters have worked extremely hard and the fact they are raising money for their respective charities is amazing. I like to say a huge thank you to the organiser Wayne Evans, a former European, British Kickboxing champion, West Midlands ABA Champion, and full ABA England coach and wish all boxers the best of luck."

The charity boxing night is expected to draw strong local support, with organisers hoping the event will not only provide an exciting evening of entertainment, but also raise vital funds for two very meaningful causes.
