The event, organised by Visiting Angels Cannock, Lichfield & Tamworth welcomed members of the public, families, and caregivers to learn more about dementia, share experiences and gain practical knowledge about supporting those living with the condition.

The session aimed to break down misconceptions, encourage open conversation and provide guidance for families who may be caring for loved ones with dementia.

The day was described by organisers as both meaningful and inspiring, with strong community engagement and a shared commitment to supporting people affected by dementia.

Care Manager Tiegan Norris said: “We were delighted to see so many people come together to learn more about dementia and how we can support those living with it. Events like this are so important for raising awareness and helping families feel less alone in their journey.”

Following the success of the Hednesford event, Visiting Angels will be hosting another “Understanding Dementia” session at Aldridge Wellbeing Centre on April 15 from 11am to 1pm.

Members of the public interested in attending the free event can reserve a place or find out more by emailing cannockoffice@visiting-angels.co.uk.

The organisation hopes the events will continue to raise awareness, provide support for families, and help communities better understand dementia.
