Mayor shares Lunar New Year celebrations with families in Wolverhampton
Families across Wolverhampton came together to celebrate the Lunar New Year at a popular all-you-can-eat restaurant, with the mayor joining the evening’s festivities.
The event took place at COSMO, based on Bentley Bridge Way, which has been bringing international flavours to the city since 2010. The restaurant was transformed with traditional decorations and celebratory activities to welcome the Year of the Fire Horse.
The Mayor of Wolverhampton, Councillor Craig Collingswood, spent the evening visiting each table to wish diners a happy Lunar New Year, handing out more than 100 goodie bags to children.
He said: “It was a real pleasure to visit COSMO yesterday to celebrate Lunar New Year with the wonderful team.

“The Lunar New Year is a special occasion for so many of our residents, and it was fantastic to see the restaurant filled with families and friends coming together to mark the start of a new year.
“Events like this highlight the rich diversity we are so proud of in Wolverhampton and the strong sense of community that makes our city so special.
“I would like to thank everyone at COSMO for their warm welcome and continued commitment to the city. They are not only a successful local business but also a valued friend to Wolverhampton, and I look forward to supporting and celebrating many more occasions with them in the future.”

In addition to the New Year festivities, the restaurant recently hosted a successful Valentines Day event with hearts and flowers décor that echoed the restaurants ethos: “Love All, Serve All.”
With Mothering Sunday approaching, preparations are underway for another busy day, as the restaurant looks forward to welcoming families for a carefully curated celebration – with early bookings recommended.
Mr Kan Koo, director of COSMO Group, said: "This year marks 16 wonderful years of serving our community here in Wolverhampton and we are so grateful for the support of all our guests over that time.

“Lunar New Year is always a special occasion for us and it feels even more meaningful as we reflect on the friendships and memories we’ve built with families across the city.
“We were especially honoured to welcome Mayor Craig Collingswood and really appreciated him taking the time to visit every table during his stay, which was warmly received by our customers. We look forward to supporting the Mayor's forthcoming Quiz night for Charity in April.
“We look forward to many more years of celebrating with our community and continuing to make COSMO a place where families and friends can come together to enjoy good food and great company."
