Taking place on Saturday, April 25 from 11am to 3pm, the event aims to celebrate local talent – with those taking part able to promote their work, network with others and sell direct to the public.

“Saturday is one of the library’s busiest days, so this is a great opportunity for authors to bring along their own books and marketing materials, without any cost for the space,” said library assistant Imogen Laverick, who is also a published writer.

“We aim to showcase a wide range of books and welcome applications from authors and comic artists of all genres.

“The deadline for applications is Friday, March 20, and places are limited.”

Operating under the Better brand, GLL is the not-for-profit social enterprise that runs Dudley Library on behalf of the council.

“2026 is the National Year of Reading – making it a perfect time to hold this marketplace event for the first time,” said Stephanie Rhoden, GLL Partnership Manager.

“It’s all about bringing writers and readers together and I’m really looking forward to seeing how it goes.”
