Generous residents support Bilston Lions’ fundraising efforts
Bilston Lions Club helped spread festive cheer across the community while raising valuable funds for the Mayor’s Charity.
Through a series of Santa walks and sleigh run events, the club collected an impressive £441.90 over the Christmas period.
The fundraising activities took place across Stowlawn, Ettingshall and Bilston High Street, where residents turned out to enjoy the Lions’ brightly lit sleigh.
A committed team of 12 volunteers donated their time to support the events, helping to bring festive magic to families and raise money for important local causes.
Stuart Richmond, spokesperson for Bilston Lions Club, expressed his pride in the community’s response: “We’re incredibly grateful for the kindness and generosity shown by local residents, and for the dedication of our volunteers. These events are always a wonderful opportunity to bring people together, and every penny raised helps support the Mayor’s Charity.”
The Mayor of Wolverhampton, Cllr Craig Collingswood, also shared his appreciation: “I’m hugely grateful to Bilston Lions Club, who have been fantastic supporters of my charity fundraising throughout my time in office. Their hard work and community spirit make a real difference, and I want to thank everyone involved for helping to raise funds for causes that support people across our city.”
Mayor Collingswood is raising money for Compton Care, Acorns Children's Hospice, SSAFA - the armed forces charity and The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust Charity.
