Discover adventure, skills and community with 2nd Brownhills Scouts
From outdoor adventures to practical life skills, Scouts is about helping young people grow into confident, capable adults – and having plenty of fun along the way. 2nd Brownhills Scout Group is inviting local families and volunteers to come and see what Scouts is all about.
Families with children aged 6–8 are invited to a free Beavers “Have a Go” session at Brownhills Library on Tuesday 17th February 2026 11.00am-1.00pm. Beavers enjoy games, crafts, teamwork and outdoor fun, all designed to build confidence and encourage curiosity in a safe, supportive environment.
For young people aged 14–18, Explorer Scouts is growing. This offers far more than just camping and activities. Explorers helps young people build lifelong skills such as teamwork, leadership, problem‑solving and resilience – skills that are essential for college, university and the world of work.
Explorer Scouts are also supported in developing skills needed for their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, providing the opportunity to volunteer with younger sections to meet that requirement, get a head start on navigation, camping and working as team.

Scouts told us: “You can earn badges, you can make new friends, you go exploring and we all hope you come soon”
Scouts isn’t just for young people. Adult volunteers are always welcome, whether they can give a little time or a lot. Volunteering with Scouts is a chance to learn new skills, make friends, support your community and rediscover the fun of trying something new – all while helping young people thrive. Training and support are provided, and roles can be tailored to suit your interests and availability. An existing volunteer says:
“I’m incredibly proud to be part of 2nd Brownhills and love supporting our young people as they grow in confidence and skills
No previous Scouting experience is needed. Whether you’re a young person looking for your next challenge, a parent keen to support your child’s development, or an adult interested in volunteering, 2nd Brownhills Scouts would love to welcome you.
