Wild pictures capture impact of Walsall industrial fire

Shocking images have captured the moment fireworks storage unit in Walsall went up in smoke .

A shock explosion erupted at a fireworks storage unit on Pleck Road in Walsall, opposite Walsall Manor Hospital, on Thursday (December 4). 

West Midlands fire fighters were alerted to the blaze at 8.27pm and sent 11 fire engines, two brigade response vehicles and a hydraulic aerial ladder platform.

The fire was caught on camera as shocked locals posted online about it.

West Midlands Police supported the fire service by blocking the roads, which have since reopened.

By 8.10am WMFS said they were damping down hotspots as two fire engines remained at the scene.

The road was closed and all traffic was diverted away from the scene following the incident but has since reopened.
