Rugeley & District Lions Club Christmas Toy Appeal turns 10!
This year marks a special milestone - the 10th anniversary of the Rugeley & District Lions Club Christmas Toy Appeal, founded by our very own Club President, Debra Coburn.

What began as a personal mission has grown into a community-wide effort that has brought joy to thousands of underprivileged children across Rugeley. Debra launched the Toy Appeal a decade ago, running it solo before joining the Lions Club. Today, she continues to lead the project with the same passion and dedication, ensuring its continued success.

How the Toy Appeal Works
Toy collection boxes are placed at local businesses, churches, and schools throughout Rugeley. Regular drop-off locations include:
Tesco
Morrisons
Wolseley Garden Centre
Gymophobics
Victory Church
Last year, we had a record 15 drop-off points—and we’re aiming even higher this year! If you can host a toy box, please get in touch. To request a toy box, message the Rugeley & District Lions Club Facebook page or email debra.coburn@sky.com.
What to Donate
All toys must be new and unwrapped. Donations are distributed to:
Social Services
Domestic violence charities
Week of Wonder at Victory Church, Rugeley
Brereton Millions / Vysions
The Church of the Good Shepherd, Rugeley
We also welcome contact from local groups or schools who can help distribute toys to children in need.

Key Dates
The Toy Appeal runs from November 1 to December 16. During this time, Lions Debra, Elaine, John, and Peter will be collecting and delivering toys to ensure every child experiences the magic of Christmas.
Get Involved
Whether you're donating a toy or hosting a drop-off box, your support helps make the season brighter for children who need it most.
Let’s make this 10th anniversary the most magical one yet!
