Severn Academies Educational Trust (SAET) launches new Sixth Form to transform post-16 education
Severn Academies Educational Trust (SAET) is thrilled to announce the official opening of its new post-16 provision, Severn Vale VI Form, welcoming its first cohort of students in September 2026. Located at Windermere Way, Stourport-on-Severn, the new Sixth Form has been established to meet the growing local demand for high-quality and diverse academic opportunities. Severn Vale VI Form will offer a comprehensive curriculum, including a wide range of A-Levels, Vocational Courses, and specialist Sporting Excellence Programmes.
Specialised Sporting Excellence Programmes
A key feature of the new provision is its elite sports academies, allowing students to combine their academic studies with high-level athletic training:
Rugby: In partnership with the Gloucester Rugby Academy, this programme offers an elite pathway for aspiring professional players. Competing in the national ACE league against other Premiership Clubs’ colleges, students receive three training sessions and one game per week, focusing on technical, tactical, and strength and conditioning development. The provision includes a brand new 4G playing surface.
Basketball: Partnering with the Stourport Spartans Basketball Club, the academy competes in the Tier 3 College Basketball League (CBL). The program offers three on-court training sessions weekly, detailed video analysis, one-on-one progress meetings, and a tailored strength and conditioning programme.
Netball: A growing programme competing in the Association of Colleges (AOC) Netball West Midlands League 3. Students receive three on-court training sessions and one dedicated strength and conditioning session per week, focusing on skill development and competitive play.
All sporting programmes receive the highest level of pastoral care and dedicated support, including access to professional physiotherapy services.

Beyond sports, Severn Vale VI Form is committed to ensuring every student achieves their post-16 goals:
Futures Programme: A bespoke program providing expert guidance on UCAS applications for university and securing high-quality apprenticeship placements.
Purpose built 6th Form and state of the art sports facilities.
Strong Ethos: The Sixth Form is built on a clear set of values to develop well-rounded, ambitious, and community-minded young adults.
Our Open Evening - Thursday, November 20
Prospective students and families are invited to the Open Evening on Thursday, November 20, from 5pm to 7pm. The event will commence with a presentation (repeated at 6pm) detailing the provision and pathways available, followed by a centre tour and an opportunity to speak with subject staff.
An additional talk for those interested in the elite rugby programme will be held at 6.20pm in the hall.
The evening will feature representatives from all subject areas covering course content, assessment, careers provision, and bursary payments.
