West Midlands Care Service Hosts Colourful Pride Party
A care service in the West Midlands, which supports men with mental health needs, hosted a colourful party to round-off Pride month.

Cygnet Sedgley House and Lodge, located on Woodcross Street in Wolverhampton, is a 34-bed high support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) service for men with mental health needs, run by Cygnet Health Care.
To mark the end of Pride month, which is celebrated throughout June, Cygnet Sedgley House and Lodge staff and service users enjoyed a party.
Service users came up with the idea to host a Pride party during their monthly Events Committee meeting and took the lead on the day by running their own stalls and games.
The Cygnet Health Care service enjoyed a barbeque and mocktails in the sunshine surrounded by Pride-themed decorations, before playing games like hook-a-duck.
Hailey Roberts, Head of Occupational Therapy at the Cygnet Group service, highlighted the success of the party.
She said: “As part of our commitment to create inclusive and welcoming spaces for all, Cygnet Sedgley House and Lodge proudly joined the celebrations for Pride month. It was a brilliant day had by all full of colour, joy and connection.
“Our Pride party was more than a celebration. It was about raising awareness, championing equality and honouring the identities and experiences of everyone.
“The service users took on a great responsibility in running their own stalls, they were nervous with the new experience but did a brilliant job. It really showcased their fantastic creativity and ownership and resulted in a lovely atmosphere of laughter and inclusion.”
