Local Lettings Agency Marks 35 Year Anniversary

Wolverhampton-based Concentric Lettings is marking the major milestone which has seen it survive two recessions, the invention of the internet, mobile phones, and the social media revolution. The business traded as Lawsons from 1990 until 2017, before changing name. 

Founded by former ARLA President Sally Lawson, who in her own right has earned a reputation as one of the leading property experts in the UK and a top 20 influencer, said the world was a very different place when she launched the business in 1990. 

“Back then the industry loved traditional paper-based processes and marketing – leaflet dropping and newspaper advertising were the norm. But as the world has evolved we’ve actively embraced everything that we can within the digital sphere, from AI and sales funnels, to SEO and social media marketing. 

“We also worked furiously to develop systems that would streamline what we did and improve the consistency of our service and output, without losing that all-important face-to-face relationships that we had with our customers. And it was this, combined with harnessing all of the marketing, sales, and operational tools available that has helped us not just survive, but thrive.” 

She built a solid team and launched the agency’s own transformational tenancy management and client accounting centre, solely focused on resolving issues as they arose and enabling customer-facing staff to focus on building relationships, meetings, and conducting viewings. 

Sally added. “It was an incredible move. Tenants were happier as issues were solved quicker, and our property managers could spend time on the vital parts of the business – like making sure contractors were insured, client account managers could allocate funds and pay on time, and landlords could view their accounts online with ease.” 

The agency has let and managed over 10,000 properties, ensuring tenancies are smooth and profitable, has purchased over 450 properties for investors – empowering first-time buyers and seasoned landlords, and completed over 250 property refurbishments across the region. 

The team has also grown from Sally in 1990 to a team encompassing Directors, Compliance Managers, Property Managers and customer service.
