Scott Mills’ husband marks anniversary in social media post

Scott Mills’ husband Sam Vaughan has marked the couple’s anniversary in a post on social media.
Mills presented BBC Radio 2’s breakfast programme until he was taken off air in March over allegations relating to his personal conduct.
On Monday, Vaughan marked the couple’s two-year anniversary and shared a black and white photograph of the pair from their wedding day.
The comment section was flooded with comments from friends and former colleagues including Rylan Clark, Sara Cox and Zoe Ball.
It is the first time Vaughan has posted something since Mills was sacked by the broadcaster, shortly before it emerged the Metropolitan Police had launched an investigation into the 53-year-old in 2016 over allegations of serious sexual offences involving a teenage boy under 16 between 1997 and 2000.
The BBC confirmed it knew about the police investigation into Mills in 2017, but said it “acted decisively” after receiving “new information” in the weeks before his sacking.
The police investigation was closed in 2019 after prosecutors decided there was insufficient evidence to bring charges.
In April, Mills released a statement through his lawyers saying he had been the subject of “rumour and speculation” since his sacking.
He added that he had “co-operated fully” with the police investigation into the allegations.
Veteran DJ Gary Davies has been filling in as breakfast show host since Mills was taken off the air, with Cox taking over the role in the summer.
