Popular pub that boasts a lot of character re-opens near Wolverhampton after refurbishment
A popular pub near Wolverhampton has re-opened after a refurbishment.
The Anchor Inn in Coven, South Staffordshire, has re-opened after a refurbishment.
The pub, near to Wolverhampton, officially reopened on Saturday 9 May and now boasts a new menu, extended bar area, and improved garden.
A new lease of life has been brought back to the pub.

The pub, previously called The Fox and Anchor, has always been a lovely site with a lot of character but it now has a spacious new bar area, new furniture and more.
The restaurant has been brightened up with new tiles and the toilets have had a fantastic uplift.
There are an extensive range of drinks on offer from beers, wines to craft ale, and there is now a new menu.

The Moroccan chicken skewer is already proving to be a popular dish as the manager of the refurbished pub, Mike Deakin, told the Express & Star that the chef has been blow away by how many people have ordered it.
Mr Deakin said: “Since we opened the chef has been blown away by how popular the Moroccan chicken skewer dish is. We have that as well as a lamb skewer and a halloumi skewer, and all of them have been flying out”.
The pub still boasts a lovely canal that runs out the back of the pub that Mr Deakin says “everyone loves”.
There is a beautiful beer garden where you can sit by the water and have a drink.
The pub now hosts a quiz night every Thursday and there will be live music on the last Saturday of every month.

The pub is hosting the Anchor festival in August with market stalls and live music, and hopes to host more events in the future. It is welcome to suggestions from its regular customers!
The Anchor has still retained its character with its old wooden beams still in place, as well as its classic feel, but it has been given an uplift just in time for the busy summer months ahead.
