A kind-hearted McFly fan from Sedgley is raffling off a prized pair of jeans from the lead singer of her favourite band in honour of their return to the city.

Amy Hadley, aged 30, was gifted the jeans of Danny Jones in an auction, shortly after she saw them for the first time at what was then the Wolverhampton Civic in 2004.

Nineteen years later the band - who have had seven number one singles and two albums – will re-visit the newly opened venue on Friday night and Amy will again be there with her dad Wilf.

The framed pair of jeans will now be auctioned off in aid of Dudley-based White House Cancer Support, who helped her mum Jane when she had breast cancer and supported the family.

They are currently residing under a bed at her parent's house in Wombourne and self-confessed music fanatic Amy said it was time for them to go and to raise money for a good cause.

She said: "McFly will always have a place in my heart, I have seen them many times over the years including at Glastonbury last year which was memorable and I am going to the festival again later this month.

"I am a massive music fan but McFly were the first 'proper' band I saw and influenced my love of guitar-based acts – I see them as a gateway band for quite a few others who have followed them.

"But as much as I love them I no longer feel like the jeans have a place at my parents' home and I hope they will go to another fan who will treasure them as much as I have.

"The White House Cancer Support is a wonderful charity in the borough where we lived and helped the family out when my mum had cancer in 2018 until the time she was in remission – they provide great support in a number of ways to many people so hopefully I can raise a bit of money for them.

"Me and my dad are really looking forward to the gig on Friday, we have heard they have done a great job with the refurbishment and it couldn't be more appropriate that McFly will be the first gig we will attend there."
